For Stata/SE, I will not install the software on more machines than the number of licenses for which I have registered For Stata/MP, I will not permit more concurrent users than the number for which I have registered. I will not copy or permit copying or access to the Software by any third party.
When you get a site license from UMass IT you will be required to sign the following agreement:

Manuals for Stata are available as PDF files, which are loaded on your hard drive during software installation. Current pricing Downloads & Documentation Stata for students, or for personally owned machines can be purchased directly from the manufacturer at very favorable rates through a special arrangement with the university. Note: All software license sales are final! Read the System Requirements carefully to be sure the software will work on your system. If you install the software on a server you must also install third-party software to insure that the number of concurrent users does not exceed your licensed number. These licenses are based on concurrent use.
UMass IT also has a limited number or Stata/MP licenses for 2-core, 4-core, and 8-core machines. Note: Your annual renewal of this site license will provide you with the latest release of Stata at no additional cost. You may renew your license as long as you remain faculty or staff at the Amherst campus. Site licensed software requires an annual renewal in order to continue to work. The software may be used only for academic purposes, and installation on personally-owned equipment is not permitted under the terms of the license. Students are not eligible to get Stata under this site license. It is offered to all UMass Amherst faculty and staff. UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) has licensed Stata/SE for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux.
